Madfoo3atCom for Electronic Payments Company won the central bank tender to build, operate and administrate the national electronic bill presentment and payment service gateway (EBPPS) nation-wide in Jordan and become the official operator for the central bank e-billing service in Jordan.
The central bank announced that the electronic bill presentment and payment service will be launched soon for the citizens to facilitate bill payments and it will be called “eFAWATEERcom”.
The Jordanian National Payments Council has held its third meeting for 2013 in the building of the Central Bank of Jordan, headed by the Deputy Governor Dr. Maher Al-Sheikh Hassan, the banks and the presence of members of the Council to discuss the most prominent developments in workflow strategic projects.
The central bank said that the meeting discussed the technical and financial proposals submitted by the companies tendering “to build, operate and administrate the national electronic bill presentment and payment service” and recommended the assignment of a company that was ranked first in both the technical and financial aspects (Madfoo3atCom for Electronic Payments Company).
This service will be launched soon as per the central bank statement issued recently and the service is explained in a power point presentation on the central bank website.
According to the explanation, the Jordanians will be able to inquire and pay bills for the sectors of telecommunications, water, electricity, government fees, education, health, insurance, taxes, etc., through an electronic mechanisms.
The explanation defined also the payment methods which are “ATM machines, Internet banking, mobile banking, bank branches, and other payment methods”.
